Welcome to my blog!

Don't you just love a great bargain?

Or even better, a family heirloom passed down from your great-aunt?

I'm excited to share with you my very FIRST furniture restoration project of a classic secretary desk. I loved its classic look before, but it was a little antiquated for my taste. With the help of some Glidden paint in "Bahia Grass," inexpensive drawer pulls from Lowes, and my inspiration piece in the second photo, my secretary desk turned into something beautiful. Oh, and did you know that Pottery Barn features a VERY similar piece for around $1,200?  The cost of my project was around $30.  How's that for a great bargain?!

You can achieve the same effect on just about ANY piece of used furniture with the help of some paint and a paint brush (or a can of spray paint and a mask).
Yay for my first successful furniture restoration project!!  I plan to share with you some of my other projects and I hope to inspire you to turn something old/ugly/boring into something beautiful!
I must give a shout out to Kristen, a fellow blogger who dedicates an entire section of her blog to DIY furniture restoration projects. Her site has been a huge inspiration to me. Check her out over at www.thefrugalgirl.com.

XOXO,
